Located on the beautiful Caribbean coast of Mexico some 40 miles (60 kms) south of Cancun, Playa, as it is now affectionately known, is the perfect base from which to explore the fascinating sites along the Cancun - Tulum Corridor of Quintana Roo (now called Mayan Riviera).
Playa del Carmen is blessed with miles of unspoiled white sandy beaches and crystal-clear Caribbean waters. Its laid-back environment is conducive to relaxation, and the town is home to a healthy expat community, both from the United States and from Europe.
The area enables the intrepid visitor to try everything from scuba-diving and sailing to biking and dancing – and if you’re not that energetic you can just kick back and enjoy the sun. |
