This nationwide event is one of the most important religious events in Mexico. It celebrates the Virgen Guadalupe with special masses and processions in many cities throughout Mexico, In Mexico City, there will be a huge mass at the Basilica de Guadalupe (where the original image is hosted), in Aguascalientes, the monument in honor of the Virgen Gudalupe is decorated, along with a special mass and processions that include representations from all of the cities churches, and in Puebla, where the day is extremely important, and you can also take part in special masses and processions. If you want to take part in the event in Huamantla, it is easier to stay in Puebla and commute from there, as Huamantla is quite small and doesn't have too many hotels.
